History
Peter Parker shared a similar history to his Prime Universe counterpart except the Burglar he let escape killed Aunt May. He returned home after his Aunt's death and after the police left, Peter revealed his new identity as Spider-Man to Uncle Ben. He then sought out the Burglar who was found to be hiding in a nearby warehouse and proceeded to attack him just as Uncle Ben arrived on the scene.
Before he could react, the Burglar, freaked out by Spider-Man, fell out of a window and seemingly died. In order to save Peter, Uncle Ben lied and got himself arrested and sent to jail. Being only a teenager, Peter ended up a ward of the state and reacted poorly to being placed in a few foster families. He regularly visited Uncle Ben in jail but could never bring himself to reveal the truth about being able to stop Aunt May's killer. Peter gave up being Spider-Man, an act which led to the death of astronaut John Jameson and his father, J. Jonah Jameson, to write several scathing editorials against Spider-Man, which eventually drove Peter to put on the costume once again and pay Jonah a visit. In his anger, Spider-Man threatened to drop Jonah several stories out of his office window if he didn't stop writing about him.
Due to his anger issues, Parker was soon sent to the Ditko Juvenile Detention Center, where he met "Flash" Thompson, who started bullying Peter, eventually driving Peter to use his powers to escape and live on the streets as Spider-Man. He slept in multiple empty buildings, stealing supplies in the dead of night. In order to make money, Spider-Man started confronting several villains for the reward money. Eventually he faced the Green Goblin, during which, the Goblin needlessly killed civilians and Peter was so enraged that he viciously attacked the Goblin. He believed he had accidentally killed someone else and fled. When Spider-Man began to spiral even further and set out to free Ben from prison, Ben refused Spider-Man's help and told Peter that he had to take responsibility in life, and that with great power came great responsibility. Peter broke down and revealed that he could have stopped May's killer but Ben told him that he couldn't change the past, only the future, and that Mrs. Watson was willing to take care of Peter until Ben was released from prison. Ben then suggested Peter reenter society to honor May's memory and Peter took Ben's words to heart, moving in with the Watsons and graduating high school with honors. Peter then went to Empire State University on a science scholarship and began a relationship with Mary Jane Watson.
Years later, Uncle Ben earned his parole and once he was released, he joined Spider-Man in fighting crime.[1]
