History
Origins[]
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, lived the Parkers - a noble family renowned for their bravery, honor, and loyalty. In a battle to protect the borders of the Kingdom, both Benjamin and Richard Parker fell in battle, but not before Richard asked Norman Osborn to take care of Peter.
Years later, Peter had become a skilled fighter, although he was charged mainly with keeping the house clean for Norman and Harry Osborn. Mary Jane was employed by Norman as a maid, and when Norman threatened to fire her if she did not clean his armor properly, Peter stepped in and helped her out. Mary Jane explained to Peter why the armor must be cleaned - King George was holding a ball to find a suitable knight to marry Princess Gwendolyn. Peter asked Mary Jane to help him sneak into the castle, but she refused, saying she was in enough trouble already.
At the tomb of Benjamin and Richard Parker, Peter decided to attend the ball to win Gwendolyn's hand in marriage, intending to build his own suit of armor. Taking inspiration from a spider in the tomb, Peter secretly worked on a suit of armor, painting it red with web patterns.

On the night of the ball, Norman Osborn ordered Peter to stay behind to clean the house before he returned. Mary Jane offered to cover for Peter, insisting he enjoy the night. At the palace, Princess Gwendolyn was unimpressed by the gathered crowd of knights, telling her father true love would not walk through the door. Peter arrived late, with the staff introducing him as "The Prince of Arachne". Peter caught Princess Gwendolyn's eye, but when she asked to remove his helmet, Peter replied he would not show any woman his face without first having danced with them.
Peter and Gwen talked about each other and a strong bond formed between them. As Gwen offered to marry Peter, she told him they had been dancing for hours and that the bell signaled midnight. Peter realized he must return home, and as he ran off, Gwen pulled off one of his webbed brassards while begging him not to go. Norman and Harry discussed the 'Spider-Prince', deciding to find him, kill him, and have Harry assume his identity. While cleaning Peter's room, Mary Jane pulled the sheets off his bed and discovered his armor. She told Peter to explain this to Princess Gwendolyn, but Peter insisted they dispose of the armor. Harry interrupted, taking the other brassard at knifepoint to bring to the Princess.
Mary Jane told Peter to take a horse and arrive there to explain himself. When Norman and Harry arrived they found out Peter has been chosen as Prince, and that King George did not intend to deny Gwen's choice of husband. Furious, Norman attacked and was stopped by Peter. Norman cut the rope holding up the chandelier directly over Peter's head. Gwen pushed him out of the way, but in turn was hit by the chandelier and killed. Peter struck Norman down, and as Harry was taken away, he swore vengeance on Peter.
After a long period of mourning, Peter was accepted by the people as their Prince and knighted. Although the Parker name was once again well known, nothing could fill the hole left by Gwendolyn's death. However the love of Gwendolyn was not the only thing Peter lost that day: Mary Jane was seen lying in bed weeping for Peter's return.[4]
Spider-Verse[]
Peter was recruited by the S.H.I.E.L.D. of Earth-41940 into the Spider-Men, a group of Spider-Man analogs, to help battle the Multiversal Sinister Six. His sword, his last memento of Gwen, was stole by the Shadow Clan. When he realized it was being used for a summoning, he was forced to destroy his sword. The prince was later given a new sword, made of Furyium, and joined the Spider-Force.[1]
