Spider-Man was one of the many caught in Kulan Gath's master spell. However, for an unexplained reason, Spider-Man had complete immunity from the spell's mind and body altering effects. Spider-Man was soon imprisoned and crucified on a cross. When a resistance movement stormed Kulan Gath’s castle, Spider-Man broke free and attempted to claim the ancient sorcerer's amulet, the source of his power but was killed by Gath almost immediately.[1]
