History
As Peter Parker
Spider-Man made a choice to live a life of responsibility. A life Mary Jane, the girl he was in love with, could never be a part of. Fate handed him amazing powers and he promised to use them to help people, because with great power comes great responsibility. Not much is known about his previous adventures besides the fact, that he fought Green Goblin and the villain died, which made Peter's friend Harry think that Spider-Man killed him.
As Peter Parker, he was studying in a university, working as a pizza delivery guy and freelance photographer for Daily Bugle, while as Spider-Man he was trying to save as many people as he could. Sometimes it could make things harder for Peter, like the time, when he decided to save people from burning building and didn't deliver pizzas in time. Most likely Peter was fired after that, since he wasn't delivering pizzas anymore.
One day, Peter was watching news on TV at home and it was broadcasted that the infamous Vulture and dozens of convicts broke free, when the prison bus they were in, got involved in a head-on collision in Midtown near the Daily Bugle. Spider-Man instantly rushed to stop the thugs, even though he was about to get late to his class. The hero stopped all the thugs, but couldn't find Vulture anywhere. He decided to catch him later and came back home to get his books and fly to university.
Later, Peter was about to fly to see Dr. Octavius's fusion reactor demonstration, when he heard some people screaming for help. Peter's friend Harry pulled strings so Peter could see the demonstration, so he didn't have much time. By the time he got to the demonstration, it already went wrong - the reactor was out of control and Otto Octavius was unconscious, so Peter crashed at the scene as Spider-Man and stopped the reactor.
After the demonstration, Peter went to Daily Bugle, where his boss Jonah Jameson was yelling at him, because he didn't take any photos of the catastrophe. However, Jonah gave him a chance to redeem himself. He told Peter about some psychopath that got peeved at a Hollywood director and took an entire museum hostage. As Spider-Man, Peter sneaked in and saved everyone, fighting armies of weird robots. After that the villain, who was called Mysterio, confronted Spider-Man and ultimately lost. If only it was the end of Mysterio's madness... Without him, his robots went totally out of control and were wreaking havoc in the city. Peter was about to get late for his meeting with aunt May at the bank, but he still decided to end the robot threat first. After every single robot was destroyed, Peter finally could meet his aunt at the train station so they could get a bank loan.
Unfortunately, Otto Octavius decided to rob that exact bank they were in. Otto was calling himself Doc Ock, because the mechanical arms he was wearing during his demonstration fused to his body. Peter quickly changed his clothes and as Spider-Man he proposed Otto to fight outside. The villain agreed, but took aunt May as his hostage. Spider-Man fought Doctor Octopus on the bank roof, while May was hanging on a ledge of that building. After a ferocious battle, Ock decided to run away and since aunt May was slipping, Spidey couldn't pursue him. Ock got away, but at least May was save, even though she didn't got the loan she needed.
Then, Peter remembered that he forgot to sell the pictures of Mysterio to Jonah. Since it was already old news, Jonah didn't accept the pictures and yelled at Peter that he couldn't take a Doc Ock's photo. However, he still told Peter that Vulture planted bombs all over the city. Spider-Man defused all bombs and confronted Vulture. After the villain was defeated, Peter forgot about Daily Bugle again and remembered that he was supposed to meet Mary Jane at the coffee shop 10 minutes ago.
Peter and Mary Jane were about to begin to talk about their relationship, when Doc Ock entered the scene and kidnapped Mary Jane. He told Peter that his robots were set to kill his friend Spider-Man and if Spider-Man want to see Mary Jane alive, he would need to destroy his robots and meet him at the clock tower at 3 O'Clock. When all robots were destroyed, Spidey rushed to the tower, but Ock was there alone. They started fighting and chose a nearby train as their battleground. When Ock realized he couldn't win, he smashed the controls of the train and ran away, while Spider-Man stayed to stop the train.
Spidey found out that Harry was helping Doc Ock all along to get the tritium needed to make another reactor, which could possibly destroy the whole city. At least Harry came to his senses and gave him the location of Ock's hideout, so Spidey infiltrated it and confronted Ock the final time. The villain was defeated and Peter talked some sense into him. Otto decided to drown his reactor and sacrificed his life, while Peter grabbed Mary Jane and escaped. Now, when Mary Jane knew that Peter was Spider-Man, she chose to be with him no matter what and it made Peter's burden of responsibility lighter.[1]
After Doc Ock there were no big supervillains to bother Spider-Man for some time. He was living his normal life as a Daily Bugle freelancer, superhero and Mary Jane's man. However, Peter's life was about to become eventful again.
One day he was just patroling the city, when a building blew up. Spider-Man saved all the helpless people, but couldn't find out who caused this explosion. He decided to think about this later and hurried to his date with MJ in a park. While they were discussing Harry and how he still wasn't talking to Peter, a living alien goo from a fallen meteorite attached to Peter's leg. Peter didn't notice that, because a guy running nearby was screaming about the Goblin's return. Confused Peter quickly suited up and ran to fight the villain. Somehow Spidey quickly recognized the New Goblin as his former friend Harry. Harry was very serious about killing the man who killed his father and it was Spider-Man. Harry also knew that it's Peter who was wearing the spider mask. Peter was forced to fight back and knocked Harry off. Then he delivered his friend to a hospital and hoped he would get well.
Later at the Bugle as always Jonah Jameson was yelling at Peter. For some reason, he didn't get any pictures of the blown up Carlyle building and the Goblin fight. But anyway, Jonah still told him about giant lizards running amok in central park and some detective named Jean DeWolfe looking for Spider-Man. When the lizards were stopped and Spidey helped DeWolfe to stop Dragon Tail Brotherhood from sabotaging a chemical factory, Spider-Man noticed Sandman, a new supervillain, trying to rob a cash vehicle. The villain threw the vehicle at Spidey, but the hero dodged and a crane behind him was hit instead. The crane girder smashed through a nearby building and Spider-Man was forced to go and save the people, while Sandman used his chance to flee.
Tired Peter was sleeping in his bed, when the black alien goo that recently got attached to his leg decided to finally make a move. It completely covered Peter's body, becoming a new "black" Spider-Man costume that also granted him even more strength and durability. The costume was taking over the hero every time he was in rage during battles. Peter barely could remember the things he did while being under the affection of the alien suit. It seemed like a dream to him, like something or rather someone was taking over his actions and decisions.
Bonded to the symbiote
Later at the Bugle Peter told Jonah that he was going to ask his professor Dr. Connors if he knew anything about those giant lizards he fought a few days earlier. Jonah, on the other hand, told Peter that DeWolfe was looking for Spidey again.
When Spider-Man visited Dr. Connors, he found his camera, which recorded how he became a giant lizard himself. More to that - the Lizard was right behind his back. He attacked the hero and ran away. Spidey pursued the reptile in the city and sewers, saving people from the army of Lizard's cold-blooded friends, ultimately defeating mutated Connors in the end. Spidey also protected DeWolfe's informant in Chinatown and found documents with evidence against the Dragon Tails in a manufacturing plant.
Some time later, Sandman resurfaced again, trying to steal more money. This time Spider-Man couldn't let the villain run away and entered into battle with him only to find out that Sandman is almost invincible. However, the hero quickly figured out his weakness and drawn him in the sewers.
When it was over with Sandman, some Mad Bomber started placing bombs all over the city. Trying to find out more about the mysterious villain, Spidey helped DeWolfe to fight more local gangs connected to the bombers. Finally, he found out that the guy was about to hit Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle. The bomber had Jameson on a copter, but Spider-Man didn't let him fly away with Jonah. In the end, he fought the bomber and disarmed his last and biggest bomb, saving Jameson and the whole city.
Somehow, Lizard wasn't put down for good, as the army of his mutants was attacking people in the city again. It turned out that Connors mutated even further, which turned him into some Super-Lizard. This time Spider-Man made sure to stop him once and for all and returned Connors to his original human state.
When all the supervillains were stopped, Peter went on a date with MJ, but he was late and the girl was angry at him. He was reckless because of the black suit and didn't even notice how he was hurting her. He decided that it was time to get rid of the costume and climbed the cathedral's main tower in Midtown East. There he noticed that loud sound waves affect the suit, which helped him to take it off.
Getting rid of the black suit
However, Eddie Brock, another photographer who worked at the Bugle, noticed Spider-Man on the roof of the cathedral and decided to check what he was up to. The alien goo merged with Eddie and they became the Venom. For some reason, the creature wanted to kill Spider-Man no matter what. It found the Sandman and proposed a team-up against the superhero.
Spider-Man would be in big trouble if Harry didn't come to help him. He seemingly came to his senses after their battle and decided to aid Peter against the duo of Sandman and Venom. Harry and Peter defeated both villains, but Harry's glider was damaged and he fell to his death. Nevertheless, what happened only made Peter remember his uncle Ben's words about power and responsibility. The further fate of the hero in unknown, but he seemingly continued saving people in New York and live his normal life as Peter Parker.[2]
