In route to the Shi'ar throneworld of Chandilar, the X-Men came across a Phalanx cruiser that was on patrol. They tricked the Phalanx into destroying their ship by firing a photon beam at the vessel. Which created debris and using it as cover the X-Men were able to sneak to the throneworld.[1]
