History

Tank-bot

The Tinkerer supplied American supervillains with technologies on behalf of Lucia von Bardas, the leader of Latveria at the time. When he was encountered by the heroes, Tinkerer unleashed some cyborg soldiers on them. Since the soldiers couldn't hold up against them, he attacked the heroes with a huge Tank-Bot. Tinkerer escaped when the machine was destroyed.

Later he was persuaded by Nick Fury to help find the solution for the nanite problem and stayed in Fury's secret base for a time. While Fury and the heroes were infiltrating Prison 42, Tinkerer disappeared. It was later revealed that he was subverted to the Fold and became the best mind in the horde.

The Ultimate Alliance encountered him in Reykjavík, Iceland, where Tinkerer was spreading the nanite infection all over the world using a repeater tower. After the villain was defeated, along with nanite Nick Fury, the signal was stopped and the nanite crisis was over.
