History
Pinkerton is an American private investigation and security agency established around 1850 in the United States by Scottish-born American cooper Allan Pinkerton and Chicago attorney Edward Rucker as the North-Western Police Agency, which later became Pinkerton & Co. and finally the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. At the height of its power from the 1870s to the 1890s, it was the largest private law enforcement organization in the world.
Francis Bergeron was a member of the Pinkerton Detective Agency in the late 1800s. He investigated several suspicious murders around New Orleans. After tracking down the murderer, a serial killer going by the name Frozen Charlotte, he was killed. He later returned as a ghost to help Hulk track down the killer, who had captured Charlie Tidwell.[1]
The time travelling mind of Omega Red traveled back in time to kill Professor X's ancestors. Working with he Pinkerton Detective Agency, Omega Red attempted first to sully the name of Jurgen Shields by bringing charges against him of cattle rustling and sending a goon squad to rebrand and recall his herd. Jurgen refused the false charges and engaged in a gunfight. Wolverine was fur-trapping in Colorado at the time, so it took three horses ridden to exhaustion to join the fight against Omega Red and the Pinkertons. He finished them off by inciting a punishing stampede of blood and dust and thunder.[2]
Silas Burr was an agent for the Pinkerton National Detective Agency in the spring of 1912. Burr was charged with 22 counts of murder and put on trial in Sioux City, Iowa. He was found guilty on all counts and was sentenced to death by hanging. But under the orders of the mysterious Romulus, Victor Creed (Sabretooth) posing as a guard helped Burr escape from the courthouse while killing a number of others in the process.[3]See Also
