According to Wolverine, Colossus and him used to undergo space missions every other week. When the Respawned, a group of parasite-infested invaded Earth, Colossus apparently died during the Respawned's invasion as he was mentioned as deceased by Wolverine as he was killing Colossus' zombified sister Magik.
