History
Virtually nothing is known about the life of the man known only as Piper before he came to join the underground community of mutants known as the Morlocks who lived in "The Alley", a huge tunnel located beneath Manhattan.
When Annalee lost her children and caused all Morlocks to feel her grief, Piper was among the group of Morlocks that tried to find new children for Annalee. The group choose Power Pack for this purpose. He manipulated alligators to trap the kids in the sewer, but they managed to escape. When they returned again later, Piper helped to capture them and deliver them to Annalee.
When Nightcrawler and Shadowcat showed up to help Power Pack, Piper used his music to summon a group of bats to attack the two X-Men until Jack Power knocked the flute out of his mouth.
Piper was killed by the Marauders during the early stages of the Mutant Massacre.
Krakoa
Many years later, following the foundation of a mutant state in Krakoa by the hand of Charles Xavier and his allies, Piper resurfaced as a citizen of the nation, having been presumably reborn by the hand of The Five, a group of mutants capable of combining their powers into a process of resurrection, brought together by Xavier as part of his plans for mutant ascension.[3]
