Plutarch was a Greek historian[1] born in 46 A.D.[2]

He wrote on Julius Caesar, notably on his time being hostage of pirate in 75 B.C.,[3] and on his crossing of the Rubicon in 44 B.C.[1] The sentence "Know thyself" appeared in his works.[2]

He died in 127 A.D.[2]
