Professor Rocher was a historian who was an expert in Ancient Egypt and was one of many scientists in the 1940s who uncovered the long lost tombs and pyramids of the time. He was a Nazi sympathizer and secretly hoped that Germany would win World War II. He worked closely with Professor Blaine, and the pair discovered the tomb of Tut-Kan-Amon, whose Crypt of Good and Evil contained two magic lamps. The Lamp of Good and the Lamp of Evil, both of which released a smoke that would change the personalities of those who breathed them in the one extreme or the other.

Professor Rocher hoped to take the Lamp of Evil back with him to Nazi Germany and give it to the military in order to take over the world. When they found the lamps, Rocher took the Lamp of Evil and used it to turn their guides evil. They were about to slay Professor Blaine when the Vision appeared to stop Rocher. The Vision was briefly enthralled by the Lamp of Evil's smoke, but when Rocher demanded that he destroy the Lamp of Good, the Vision instead inhaled its fumes and fought back against Rocher.

Defeating his minions, the Vision then destroyed the Lamp of Evil and used the smoke from the Lamp of Good on Rocher making him turn over a new leaf and repent his formally evil ways.[1]

His subsequent fate is unknown.

Weapons

Professor Rocher briefly had in his possession the Lamps of Good and Evil. Their origins unknown they were located in the crypt of Tut-Kan-Amon. The smoke from the Lamp of Good would cause those who inhaled the smoke to cease their evil ways and become devoted to good. The Lamp of Evil would have the opposite effect. It would appear that those who were exposed to the Lamp of Evil became loyal to whomever used the lamp to make them evil as Rocher commanded the guides and the Vision when they were under its influence.
