History
Proteus was an Atlantean that lived in Amphitrite, he was angry at Namor and the ruling government for letting his people in the Colonies remain poor and starving, while the elites in the Capital become richer. He and his fellow rebel leaders where contacted by Jacqueline Trufaut who had rediscovered Neptune's Mystic Talismans in the ruins of Pontus.[1]

Proteus received a magic necklace from Jacqueline Trufaut that allowed him to shape-shift.[1] Proteus and his allies later murdered Jakka, an Atlantean commander who was sent by Namor to investigate the area. Proteus then transformed into Jakka's likeness to set a trap for Namor.[2]
Disguised as Jakka, he lured Namor to Amphitrite and forced him to fight him in an arena. Proteus transformed into various forms as he battled Namor, but Namor eventually defeated him.[2] Proteus and his allies later gathered to face Namor in a final battle, after defeating Namor, Jacqueline revealed herself as the mastermind behind the attacks of Proteus and his allies, before attempting to destroy Namor. During their battle Proteus his allies fled.[1]Attributes
