History

Origin and early years

Proteus was the son of Neptune, and a sea-god himself.

After the Trojan War, he was the one to guide Menelaus and Helen back to Sparta.

Proteus was worshipped and invoked by Atlanteans, as was his father.

Modern Age

An Atlanteans, subsequently known as Proteus was mutated and given similar powers that those of Neptune's son by Jacqueline Trufaut using the Trident of Neptune, in her plot to kill Namor and avenge her father, a bystander killed during a visit of the Submariner to the United Nations in New York that had turned into a riot.
