Synopsis for "A Hole in the Ground"

The Howling Commandos took the Punisher and his family to a joint forces training base in Los Alamitos while in prison, Sammy killed the criminals sent by Del Sol to kill her and left her cell.

At Los Alamitos, the Punisher asked Sidewinder who they took orders from, why they were targeting him, and who was supplying the Dos Soles with chemical weapons. Sidewinder said that it was a question above his pay grade and was told through a phone call to take the Punisher to the desert and execute him when the military was clear of the area while continuing to hold the family. When Sidewinder told Ruby Red to stay with the family, Frank's brother-in-law lashed out at her, insisting that his children knew nothing about the Punisher, that his wife was struggling for breath with asthma and panic issues, that he was married to her for three years before he found out who she was, how they pretend that she isn't related to Frank, revealed that he was a lawyer, and threatened to sue her.

After Sidewinder took Frank to the desert, the vigilante told him to ask himself why the military was only moving in on Los Angeles at that time, why they were all ready, who stood to benefit from all of it, and from him dead. Frank told him that he could find out and Sidewinder asked what he needed. Meanwhile, Sammy fought her way through Los Angeles with two nightsticks while helicopters arrived. Frank told Sidewinder to kill him but let him get to the bottom of the gas that was used in Mexico. Although Frank told Sidewinder that nobody was going to die "unless they deserved it", the soldier told him that he didn't want death and that he wanted the truth. Frank agreed and wanted Sidewinder to protect his family and treat them well, who was giving them their orders, and to make a call for him.

Sammy stood on a hill overlooking the city as helicopters flew by while Tommy sat with Loot outside of his house, armed with a shotgun. Sidewinder ordered his men to cut the family loose and get them take-out and claimed to his employer over the phone that the Punisher was dead. Meanwhile, the Punisher was actually driving to the Pentagon.
