Synopsis for "Franken-Castle, Part 2"

In a castle, the Hunter of Monster Special Force tortured Manphibian for the whereabouts of his teammates and the item they were hiding but he didn't answer, so they killed his children and learned about the monster refuge from them. While attempting to take his pills, Frank dropped all but one and ate the last one before a young monster gave him a chocolate bar. A monster noted that Manphibian was missing and Werewolf by Night thought that he was dead before Morbius opened a hidden door and the Bloodgem, deciding that it was safer with him.

The Living Mummy gave Frank more pills before taking him to Monster Metropolis and telling him about how it was established as a safe haven for monsters from hunters. Morbius told the priest that he hadn't told the others why they were being hunted and asked him how he could get rid of the Bloodgem and who could he trust. He argued with the priest over whether or not he had been corrupted by the stone before they saw hunters attacking other monsters. Then, he rushed into the hidden room with the stone and put it away before Robert Hellsgaard and other hunters surrounded him.

Frank woke up and saw the young monster get blasted and killed before dying in his arms, as monster hunters entered his room.

Solicit Synopsis

"FRANKEN-CASTLE," PART 2

The Punisher is dead, so who, or what, is the giant patchwork monster skulking through the tunnels under New York? And what do those strange armored Japanese hunters tracking him want? Criminals are no longer being killed; they are simply vanishing into thin air. Listen closely, you can hear their pleas far below the streets. Those forgotten by society have a new protector. The Legion of Monsters has found a new leader.

Notes

  • This story is reprinted Punisher Franken-Castle and Punisher Rick Remender Omnibus.

Trivia

  • The TV show Frank is watching looks suspiciously like the comic book series Fear Agent, also by Rick Remender and Tony Moore.
  • A door has E. Powell & Co, Nashville, TN engraved on it. This is presumably a reference to Nashville born comic book writer/artist Eric Powell.
