History
Qin Shi Huandgi, or Qin Shi Huang, lived in China at a time there was incessant warfare for centuries.[1]
In 221 B.C.,[3] with a strong hand, he made peace,[1] unifying most of China under his rule,[3] becoming the first emperor of China[1] and of the Qin Dynasty.[3]
Under his rule, warring stopped while education and medicine thrived.[1]
In 209 B.C., he sent his court sorcerer Xú Fú to the immortal Anqi Sheng for the Elixir of Life. Anqi Sheng sent him away, asking for a certain price, and so Xú Fú returned with the gift of the emperor, three thousand children, pure and from the very best families. Anqi Sheng was pleased by the gift and gave Xú Fú only a component of the Elixir, which enraged Xú Fú, and then Anqi Sheng killed the offering.[2]
He also began the construction of a 3000-mile-long wall, a precursor to the Great Wall of China.[3]
His dynasty fell with his death and was replaced by the Han Dynasty which lasted until 220 AD.[3]
The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is one of the places of interest in China.[3]Notes
- In Captain America: Hail Hydra #3, it is unclear whether Qin Shi Huang was part of Hydra.
