History
R'Shumba is a native of the nation of Wakanda. During the first rule of T'Challa (the Black Panther) she was in a romance with another Wakandan youth named N'Kano. N'Kano's father was Wakanda's Supreme Technologist. He and his wife A'Kane began working on the Vibrasurge Research Project, an attempt to provide Wakanda unlimited power by utilizing the combined power of Wakandan Vibranium and a variant of the material found in the Savage Land. When the experiment was first run the Vibrasurge facility exploded seemingly killing everybody within the facility. Also in the facility was the younger N'Kano, who was found alive. He was endowed with vibrational powers but the manifestation of these powers shattered his bones leading to a very long recovery. Once healed, N'Kano -- now calling himself Vibraxas -- was endowed with a special costume to help control his powers and was brought to the United States by the Black Panther. [1] There he became a member of the youthful heroes known as Fantastic Force. [2] During a mission to stop a gang war from erupting on the streets of Manhattan, Vibraxas accidentally killed a gang member in self defense. [3]
Eventually Vibraxas was extradited back to Wakanda to stand trial for the death. After the initial trial, Vibraxas was reunited with R'Shumba, but it was a less than happy reunion. Believing that N'Kano had abandoned his people and his principals, she slapped him across the face before fleeing into the jungles. N'Kano followed after her and explained that he had no choice other than going to the United States, as it was a royal decree and he did not wish to harm those he cared about with his powers. However when she told him that the Vibrasurge project was restarted, N'Kano went to destroy the facility. N'Kano was opposed by his teammates, but his proximity to the Vibranium mound caused a massive creature, later dubbed the Mound Monster, to raise from the ground. The creature was an amalgam of Vibranium and the missing bodies of those who were originally caught in the first Vibrasurge explosion. [1] She was present when Vibraxas and the other members of Fantastic Force destroyed the creature. Shortly thereafter the ruling council of Wakanda found Vibraxas innocent of wrong doing but pulled Wakanda's funding of Fantastic Force, prompting N'Kano to reject his country and return to the United States, cutting his reunion of R'Shumba short. [4] R'Shumba's subsequent activities are unknown.See Also
