The Rabirian Mountains were a mountainous chains in northern Argos, separating it from Zingara at northwest and the province of Poitain in Aquilonia at north. At west, Zingara Road roughly followed the coastline then Rabirian Mountains, while at east, the eastern side of the Rabirian Mountains followed the course of the Alimane River. Poitain was connected to Argos across the Rabirian Mountains via Saxula Pass. The eastern patch of mountainous lands at Poitain southeast, on the northern shore of the Alimane and Khorotas Rivers, part of Argos at south and Ophir at north (the whole of Ophir's land north of the tributary of the Khorotas River separating it from Aquilonia),[2] was possibly a continuation of the Rabirian Mountains.

Set near the remote city of Valdover, in the Trigong Spire, the mountain lake Aoi flowed into the Thunder River.[5]

Part of the Rabirian Mountains were under domination of Zingara,[6] or were under Aquilonia's influence.[3]

History

The Rabirian Mining Revolution was a crushed uprising of an army of peasants oppressed for decades by Zingara. The rebels were briefly assisted by the Savage Avengers who caused severe blows to the Zingarans. This assistance was recounted in the Nemedian Chronicles, and were considered to be inconsistencies.[6]

When King Numedides of Aquilonia invaded Argos in pursuit of General Conan, Conan's Bossonian mounted infantry caught the rear of General Procas's army in the foothills of the Rabirian Mountains.[4]

During King Conan's rule over Aquilonia, brigands raided caravans in the Rabirian Mountains, but Prince Conn dealt with it by sending a squadron of Black Dragons who brought them to justice. King Conan, looking for any fight, intended to go there, but was informed by Conn that the matter was already dealt with.[3]
