History
Spanish conquistador Ramiro Montoya discovered the area of Medisuela in 1521 AD on an expedition into the South American interior; by then it was just a number of agricultural communities established by Guaraní natives around the Paraná River. Medisuela City was founded in 1534 and became the center of a Spanish colonial province.[2]
