Solicit Synopsis

“TOMBSTONE BLUES,” PART 2 The sharpest-dressed sharpshooter in Wild West is back in the saddle again – and this time he’s not riding alone! When Wyatt and Morgan Earp are taken hostage by Cristo Pike and his pack of pistoleros, the Rawhide Kid must put together a posse of the greatest western heroes in the Marvel Universe to rescue the Earp brothers and bring Pike to justice: Kid Colt, Doc Holliday, Annie Oakley, Billy the Kid, Red Wolf and The Two-Gun Kid! But before the Sensational Seven faces its High Noon showdown, it’s got to get there in one piece – which ain’t easy considering this posses’ complicated history.

Notes

¨* The mention of the gunfight in the Ok corral in this issue, mean that the story happened after October 26, 1881, date of the gunfight in real life and in the Marvel universe version of the events in Wyatt Earp Vol 1 10. The next issue, Billy the kid joins the western hero coalition, but in real life he was killed on July 14, 1881, making a chronological contradiction.

  • Also in this story, Morgan mentions that Virgil Earp was dead, (when Wyatt implied that he was alive) despite that in real life Virgil oulived Morgan (who was killed in 1882).
  • Those mistakes would be explained by the nature of the western stories in Marvel universe, that often are derived from not very accurate dime novels. [1]
