History

The Red Lotus Tong was one of San Francisco's three dominant Chinese crime syndicates, competing with each other in the rackets. It's soldiers were good street fighters and martial arts masters.

The Red Lotus Tong was employed by a Macau-based Sino-American corporation, the Ibis Consortium, who hired them to strongarm those who refused to sell their property in San Francisco. The Red Lotus was also in charge of running a poppy field in the huge basement under the block of land that the Ibis Consortium had purchased. The poppy field's environment had been set to match the altitude and climate of upper Tibet, perfect for growing the narcotic Yellow Claw, a type of poppy.
