Synopsis for ""The Blood That Binds!""
Red Sonja travels with a woman named Zora who claims to be her sister. Despite being injured by the Drommach, Zora manages to tame a stable-man's unruly horse. Red Sonja holds the stable-man at knifepoint, then trades her knife for two horses. Sonja and Zora travel to Khorusun, a harbor city. There, they are attacked by hair-thieves seeking their red locks. Zora takes an alchemist's concoction to grow out her hair. After dancing in a wild bar party, Zora takes a man to bed with her. Red Sonja has jealous dreams, haunted by her visions of the goddess of chastity and Zora's laughter. Sonja awakens to hear the man next door screaming and running out of Zora's room, and enters to see Zora's nude body covered in massive amounts of hair. After cutting it and selling it, Zora and Sonja take to the seas. After a sparring match, the ship is attacked by pirates. After a battle, the pirates flee, seeming to realize the ship belongs to Lord Daquius, the man who Sonja and Zora are guarding. The ship is then hit by a massive storm, which leads to an argument between Sonja and the crew over whether to dock on an island the crew believes haunted.

Trivia
- This is the first issue of a two issue Red Sonja series. Two issue try out series of Red Sonja and Kull were produced to test the waters for the revival of ongoing series for both characters. Both ended up receiving new ongoing series months later.
