—Mr Fantastic[source]Ah, a Nuclear Fission reactor! I built a miniature one of these for my 2nd grade science project.
History
Bombarded by cosmic radiation during an experimental outer space mission, the brilliant scientist Reed Richards found himself, along with his three companions, gifted with incredible powers. As the Fantastic Four's firmly established leader, Richards uses his incomparably vast intellect to solve many problems before they even rise.[1]
Cosmic Brick Crisis[]
A Trip to the Baxter Building[]
Being sent various "cosmic bricks" by Nick Fury, Reed found himself struggling. To help, Fury assigned Captain America to help him back at the Baxter Building. Finding themselves locked out of the Baxter Building, Reed and Captain America were able to use their ingenuity to bypass the security system, entering the building, finding Doctor Octopus stealing the Cosmic Bricks in the lab.The two pursued Doctor Octopus, leading to Doctor Octopus leaving and heading for the roof. Taking to the roof via the Fantastivator, Doctor Octopus gave chase across various rooftops. Eventually, this led Doc Ock Daily Bugle, where he stormed through the office and caused Spider-Man to take accompany Cap and Reed. The trio pursued Doc Ock to Times Square, defeating him in combat only for the brick he stole to be recovered by Green Goblin. After the fight, Mr. Fantastic used his long arms to marshal signal the arrival of a Quinjet. Black Widow and Hawkeye then sent Reed and Cap back to the lab to continue Reed's research.[2]
Operation: Latveria[]
With the Tesseract being held in Latveria, Fury acquired the assistance of the Fantastic Four to storm Doom's castle after S.H.I.E.L.D. provided cleanup assistance for the Baxter Building. With the Four and Fury taking the Fantasti-Car to Latveria, they were met with incoming fire, Fury and Torch split up with the rest of the team to secure the landing zone, while Reed set the Fantasti-Car to autopilot and landed in the outskirts of Doom's castle with Sue and Ben. The three found Green Goblin's helicopter, along with a group of Doombots and their line to Fury jammed. Fighting their way through the Doombots and disabling the satellite that was blocking the signal, Fury sent the team a distress call, having met heavy resistance on the other side of the castle. Eventually meeting up with Johnny and Fury, the five were forced to trigger the security alarm to gain access to the elevator, as this would cause many Doombots to be brought down from the interiors of the castle and thus grant them access to the Elevator. Upon reaching Doom's lair, the five were met by Green Goblin who attacked them, knocking Johnny Storm unconscious, and sending Doombots after the rest. Eventually, the four were able to knock out Goblin. Afterwards, Johnny regained consciousness and the five confronted Doom. However, they were then crushed under rocks as a result of Loki's blasts. The five survived this attack, clearing up the rubble and bringing the captured Silver Surfer back to the helicarrier they took a Hulk friendly quinjet to a Roxxon plant that was being attacked by the Statue of Liberty. Upon the jet trying to intercept the statue, it was knocked into the Roxxon plant, sending it crashing into one of the rooms.[2]
Rise of Liberty[]
Upon Magneto controlling the Statue of Liberty, Hulk and Mr Fantastic were sent to deal with it, rendezvousing with Wolverine. Working their way upward whilst fighting Magneto's acolytes and avoiding attacks from Liberty, the trio eventually made their way outside, where Magneto used the Statue of Liberty to step on the three, causing them to end up inside the statue. Working their way to Liberty's head, they encountered Mastermind, who controlled each consecutive member of the trio with his mind control powers, exploiting their fears to make them lash out. Reed and Logan were eventually able to resist the mind control while Hulk ended up passing out as a result of the mind control. Mastermind then altered their perception to disguise his true location, which Wolverine was able to bypass through his heightened senses, knocking him out. After Hulk regained consciousness the other two found Magneto successfully extracting the Roxxon core, using his magnetic powers to decapitate the Statue of Liberty sending them flying.[2]
Clean-Up at the Baxter Building[]
The Baxter Building having been fully cleaned up from Doom's attack, Sue and Reed were greeted by Magneto who crashed through the ceiling upon being defeated in a battle with several other heroes. The two were then called in by S.H.I.E.L.D. for a meeting as Reed resigned himself to cleaning up. During this meeting, Fury informed a group of heroes of the threat that Galactus and Doom posed.
Last Stand on the Helicarrier[]
Eventually, Loki began controlling Galactus, sending him to destroy earth. Faced with the threat of global annihilation, Tony Stark and Reed Richards came up with a new plan, team up with the various villains Loki had hired due to their shared interest in protecting the earth. Fury followed this plan. Team Three built a Black Hole generator to knock Galactus in, however, Galactus refused to let go, leaving the responsibility of knocking him in to Team Four. Team Four's plan worked, knocking Loki and Galactus into the black hole and the earth was saved. As per Fury and Doom's earlier agreement, the villains were given a thirty second head-start to escape, an idea that was unintentionally sabotaged by Hulk's inability to count to three, allowing the villains to escape.[2]
Afterparty at Stark Tower[]
Celebrating their victory over Galactus, Tony Stark held a wrap party at Stark Tower. Spider-Man attended the party and, much like the other guests, found it lifeless and boring. Sue was able to become more enthusiastic for the party, however, once Tony and Rhodey activated a disco ball.[2]
Hostages at Marvel[]
When Vulture and Howard the Duck held the Marvel writers hostage to gain more comic coverage, Spider-Man and Mr Fantastic arrived to deal with the situation. Working their way through the Marvel security system, the heroes confronted the duo. Howard put himself out of the equation almost immediately, knocking himself back with his rocket launcher and leaving him out of the rest of the fight, while Vulture proved more of a challenge. The two ultimately took out Vulture through a combination of traps, exploiting his bird-like instincts and placing several decoys of Avengers members, saving the Marvel staff in the process.[2]Attributes
