Reed Richards was a member of the Fantastic Five. They went on many missions and even set up a hotline to help others. When the Fantastic Five were lured into a trap by Mephisto who phoned them while possessing Father Coen, Ben, Reed, Sue and Johnny were subjected to their worst fears. Unfortunately, Johnny was burned alive by Mephisto when the Surfer refused to sign Mephisto's contract. Reed, Sue and Ben eventually returned to Earth when the Surfer relented and agreed to sign the contract. Years later after Mephisto's influence had left the world, Reed was proud to see his Franklin graduate from college with his doctorate.
