History
Reed's history was presumably similar to that of his Earth-616 counterpart up until Secret Wars when Thing returned from space he was amazed by the Venom symbiote's seeming life with Reed commenting that while the symbiote seemed alive it being sentient remained to be seen. When Reed queried what Ben was doing in the room, Ben reminded Reed that it was their anniversary of becoming the Fantastic Four and accused him of forgetting it. Reed rejected the notion of having forgot it and stated that he simply wanted to give Ben time to adjust after having gotten back from space, Ben didn't believe that and believed that Reed wanted to avoid the anniversary because he felt guilty for turning Ben into the Thing. Before the 2 could continue arguing the Invisible Woman called Reed away and Reed told Ben they'd continue the conversation later. [1]
Reed later heard screaming coming from the room Ben was in only to seem him bonded to the Venom symbiote. The symbiote then turned Ben back to human form, Reed tried to convince Ben that this wasn't the way and that the symbiote would control him, however Ben believed Reed to just be jealous that the symbiote had found a way first. After Reed attempted to use a sound gun on the symbiote, Ben broke it before jumping out the window with the symbiote. [1]
Later Reed began trying to convince himself that there would be some way to take away the suit but keep Ben human, in which Sue interjected and told Reed that they can figure how to keep Ben human later. After a bit of discussion, Reed decided he's ultimately be the one to take the symbiote which would turn Ben back into the Thing. [1]
Sometime later, The Lizard attacked the Baxter Building and destroyed the floor Sue and Reed were on. Connors then battled the 2 and killed Sue, Ben arrived just in time to see Connors kill Reed. When Ben tackled Connors out a building and took the symbiote away, to try to convince Ben not to kill him he asked Ben what Reed would think, however Ben still enraged told Connors he didn't know as Reed was dead.
