History
Reese lived in the neighborhood of Manhattan claimed by Moon Knight as his territory to protect. Together with other people from her block, Reese was turned into a vampire by a vampiric pyramid scheme cult, the Structure. When Reese's "recruiters" took them out in the streets to force them to turn more people, they were killed by Moon Knight. He almost killed Reese and the other recruitees until she explained they had been turned against their will. Afterward, Reese began to work at Moon Knight's congregation, the Midnight Mission, as a receptionist.[2]
One day, as Moon Knight was on an away mission, Reese and her colleague Soldier were ambushed by the Zodiac at the Midnight Mission. Knowing the Mission would kill him if he entered, Zodiac instead threatened to kill all the neighbors if Reese didn't exit, leading Soldier to disguise himself as Mr. Knight, hoping it would save some time for the real one to arrive.[3]
Seeing through the ruse, Zodiac immediately shot Soldier and, although Reese jumped in front of him, the bullet went through her and hit him in the chest, killing him. Enraged, Reese then launched herself at Zodiac, intending to kill him, but Moon Knight arrived shortly after, claiming he'd save her the trouble of taking a life and doing it himself. As he was about to end Zodiac's life, however, his Steven Grant persona took over and stopped the act,[4] forcing Moon Knight to tell Reese about his dissociative identity disorder.[5] Soldier's tale also had an unexpected turn as the bullet that hit him took a chunk of Reese's heart and inadvertently turned him into a vampire, making him return to life.[6]
After Moon Knight gave his life to save New York, Reese became in charge of the Midnight Mission, per his request, and Soldier remained faithfully by her side.[7]Attributes
