Ringo and Dull Knife then offer to escort the man the rest of the way to Colt City.

That night as they camp out, they split up the watch and soon break camp and sneak off in the middle of the night when Dull Knife spots a posse of lawmen riding through the area. The following morning the man finally recognizes the Ringo Kid. The Kid suddenly stops at a nearby cabin and buys a large amount of food and then brings it to a family in need. Ringo tells the man that he tries to help out those who have trouble getting by.

As they begin to reach Colt City, the trio spot US soldiers heading toward them. Quickly the man hands Ringo a piece of paper and tells him to hide it. As it turns out the man is an Army officer and he tells the soldiers that the two men with him helped him get to Colt City.
