Son of Victor Jay, the Mister E of the 1940s, when Victor awoke in the modern era he sought out his wife and son but when he found them his son Robert was very resentful towards his father especially for having denied their Jewish origins. In fact, Robert and his mother resumed their original surname Goldstein and after having made him visit his dying wife forced him to leave and not look for anything from them.[1]

During his mother's funeral, his remorseful father continued to say he was sorry and this made Robert and his father reconcile telling him he could come home.[2]
