History
Bobby LeBeau was "The Chosen One" for the Guild of Thieves, a sect that has been at war with the Guild of Assassins for centuries. He was also the leader of the Thieves and brother to Gambit.
Bobby was kidnapped by Gambit's ex-fiance Bella Donna Boudreaux who was the leader of the Assassins, who wanted to trade Gambit for the Tithe and Bobby. Gambit and Pierre arrived and the switch was made just in time for the coming of the X-Ternal. Just before the tithe was due, the Assassins tricked the Thieves by giving them a false Tithe, starting a battle that was cut short when the X-Ternal arrived.
Seeing the fake Tithe, the X-Ternal was about to destroy the Thieves when Jean Grey showed her what had transpired using telepathic images. Understanding what had happened, the X-Ternal allowed the Thieves to choose a fitting punishment for the Assassins' leader Bella Donna. Robert wanted her dead, but Gambit chose to take Bella's powers.
Pierre, Bobby, and the other Thieves returned to their base.[1]
Bobby was later present at Gambit's funeral.[2]
