Rosie Thompson[src]

History

Rosie Thompson is the mother of Flash Thompson and Jessie Thompson, and the widow of Harrison Thompson. Rosie and Harrison Thompson lived in Queens, New York. Her husband worked as a police officer for the NYPD. An alcoholic, Harrison would sometimes turn violent towards their children, especially their son Flash. This abuse is what led to Flash becoming a bully in high school, as he was lashing out against his troubled home life.[2][3] Rosie sometimes blamed Flash for his own abuse, which contributed to their strained family dynamics.[4]

Rosie and Flash reconciling

Some time following the death of Harrison,[5] Rose was kidnapped from her home by the Human Fly as part of a ploy by the Crime-Master to enact vengeance of Flash, who had become the super hero Agent Venom.[6] Afterward, Rose was moved to the Rose Manor Center for Wellness in Upstate New York.[7] Eventually, she and Flash reconciled with each other when he visited her after returning from space.[8]

One day, Rosie was visited by Cletus Kasady disguising himself as a friend, raising no suspicion from her. As Flash had been chasing him down, Cletus secretly injected her with Polonium-210 which slowly poisoned her body. This would've certainly killed her if Flash hadn't arrived in time to save her. He engulfed her in his symbiote to purge the toxic material from her body. Although she was mostly cured, Flash was left weakened. Rosie pleaded to her son to stay by her side, but he was forced to depart as Carnage began harming other innocent people.[9]
