History
Ross Romero was an employee of Alchemax and a friend Miguel O'Hara and Microchip. He was chosen by the corporation to be an astronaut and explore a mysterious planet that had appeared overnight in the Solar System. When he and his team landed on the planet and started drilling the surface, they discovered the planet was a livin being and got attacked by its immune system. Ross, being the only survivor between those of the group of that couldn't escape Ego, started living on the island, starving, as he was unsure if he was to eat food from the planet. On the ninth day on Ego, Ross, desperate, ate a red fruit, that caused him to mutate, incresing his body's mass and changing his skin to red. He also gained memories of Ego's story, who was trying to escape Terrax, the Planet Hunter.[2]
Terrax came to Ego, when the planet was already dead, intending to kill Ross; the latter, now calling himself Red Hulk, fought him, trapped him in one of Ego's ravines and left him to die. At that point, Ross left the planet for the unknown.[2]
