Overview[]
The Russian Revolution was a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917 which dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the rise of the Soviet Union.
Events[]
A man named Grigory Rasputin claiming to be a monk came the Russian royal family and offered to cure the young prince. He used his abilities to cure the prince winning favour of the Czarina Alexandra[1][2]
On January 20th 1917, Prince Felix Yusapov told the royal family Rasputin was dead. Along with his allies Dmitri Pavlovich ans Vladimir Purishkevich they invited him to a meal and poisoned him with cyanide in the cake, they then shot him, but this did not work as he ran they beat him with clubs. As he ran down the stairs he fell and appeared to break his neck. On January 23rd the found his body in the river.[1][3]
On October 25th leftist revolutionaries led by Bolshevik Party leader Vladimir Lenin launched coup d’état against the Duma's provisional government. They arrested the royal family and took them to a house in Tolbusk. The family were later executed in the basement. The youngest daughter Anastasia escaped to Berlin but paused away in hospital.[1]
The Bolsheviks formed a new government with Lenin as its head. Lenin became the dictator of the world’s first communist state known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics or USSR.
Sergei Kravinoff lived in Volgograd during this time. He escaped to Africa where he became "Kraven the Hunter". He became one of the world's greatest hunter.[4]
During the revolution the Raven's Eye was stolen from the Romanovs' bedroom.[5]
In 1918, Perun, the Storm God and Chernobog, the god of Darkness were involved during the Bolshevik Red Terror.[6]See Also
