History

When Legion, the mentally unbalanced mutant son of Professor Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller, traveled back in time in an attempt to kill Magneto, he accidentally killed Xavier instead, creating a splinter universe known as the Age of Apocalypse. In that reality, mutants became the dominant species of the planet. Apocalypse rose to power enslaved humanity.

Sam Guthrie was one of Apocalypse's prelates, underneath Scott Summers, and later Alex Summers. He often had misgivings with the Bedlam Brothers. When Scott turned traitor, he was sent after them along with his sister. They found the Bedlam Brothers helping him, and fought them. Sam ended up hitting a wall full force, courtesy of one of the Brothers.
