History

Samuel Wantling (Earth-616) from Children of the Voyager Vol 1 1 001

Sam has a nightmare.

Samuel Wantling is an author of best-selling horror novels, such as Banshee's Call.[1] Adopted as a child, Sam never knew his birth parents. In actuality, Sam had been created by the cosmic entity called the Voyager. The Voyager imbued many shards of his soul into his "Children", always returning to absorb them and increase his power.

Sam began to have nightmares of the Voyager, which came to consume his life. Unable to produce more novels and abandoned by his girlfriend, Sam became desperate. His editor, Mona St. Croix, referred him to the witch Harriet Homerstone.[2]

Powers

Sam was created by the Voyager, a banished cosmic being that sought to return to its home. Having developed his own soul, Sam gave back the fragment of the Voyager within himself.
