The San Andreas Dam is a dam built on San Andreas Creek that widened San Andreas Lake. The dam sits directly on the San Andreas Fault.
History
On the High Evolutionary's Counter-Earth, despite warnings from geologists and the famous scientist Victor von Doom, who asked the President not to allow the planned detonation to occur below the fault, which would have endangered the fault itself and the dam located in its path, President Rex Carpenter refused to suspend the detonation, asserting that the experiment would serve to protect millions of Americans. The detonation did occur, and as predicted by scientists, the earthquakes that followed the detonation damaged the dam, allowing water to burst out. It was only thanks to the intervention of Adam Warlock that this accident could have been prevented from resulting in tragedy.[1]
