When Dark Domain was formed, Satana saw the chaos in it as an opportunity to gain more power. After a version of Doctor Strange managed to defeat Mephisto and usurp his place, Satana made a deal with him to increase her own position.
Satana was approached by Spider-Man and Ghost Rider who were seeking the souls of their loved ones who ended up trapped in Hell - Mary Jane Watson and Gabriel Reyes respectively. They were in the company of another hero, who wanted to dethrone Strange - her new boss - and Satana offered to release both of the souls in exchange for that of their friend. Although Spider-Man took the deal for real while Ghost Rider was only playing along, both attacked their companion, only for them to all turn on Satana when the soul contracts were knocked from her hands. Pressed by another version of Strange, Satana was forced to reveal that the contracts were fake and that only the original signee - in this case Mephisto himself - had the power to undo them and release the souls. This send Ghost Rider and Spider-Man on a difficult quest towards the Citadel of Sin, while Satana herself was later seen criticized by her brother Daimon.[1]
