Synopsis for "Act 1: The Suit"

After being woken up by a dream and heard a sound that he hadn't heard in a long time, Bob Reynolds suspected that the Void had returned, although wondered if what he remembered really happened or was only in a comic book. In a Silver Age comic book, a boy named Robby Reynolds discovered a professor's secret formula, drank it, and gained powers, allowing him to punch his bully Buzz. That evening, he fashioned a golden suit and after leaping into the air, immune to the effects of the elements around him, the Sentry learned from his Sentry Sensors that the Blue Buffoon had attacked Empire State University. Then, Sentry saved the Avengers from the Void when they were struggling to defeat him, although the Void vowed to return.

In a later comic, the professor told Sentry that the serum induced a photosynthetic reaction in which his powers came from the Sun and were limitless, making him immortal. However, the professor also told him that every time he boosted, the dosage must be increased and that there was a danger that he was becoming too dependent on the drug. In the present, Bob attempted to repair the Confluctor, an artifact that was the only working relic left on the Temporalon homeworld after the Void's attack. In hopes of helping himself focus, Bob drank a drop of the serum before imagining the Void speaking through his dog Normie.

His wife Lindy saw him and she found out that he was actually drinking. She felt hurt that he lied about having quit drinking and decided to stay with her friend Judy. Afterwards, Bob took out a jacket with a piece of cloth clipped to the back and flew into the air, seemingly seeing the Sentry Signal.
