History
Origins[]
This race of serpent-fish-men[1] was the product of the union of the Elder God Set and the god Dagon.[2][1]

Modern Age[]
By the Modern Age, Set-Dagon seemingly led his people,[3] descendants of Set and Dagon who resided in an unidentified dimension.[2]
As his friend Dr. Hammond was dying, Morbius used the Vaal Talisman to steal mystic powers from Doctor Strange, along with a rub of the Darkhold, and consequently accidentally enabled Set-Dagon and his people to invade Earth. Set-Dagon and his brethren tried to dispel other mystical barriers in order for the forces of darkness to overrun the Earth dimension.
While Strange and Spider-Man were looking for Morbius from the Sanctum Sanctorum, the serpent-fish-men attacked them. They managed to escape the sanctum, only to be captured in the street.
Spider-Man finally managed to mystically locate Morbius, and the pair escaped to his location, which was also attacked by the serpent-fish-men. Spider-Man managed to destroy the Vaal Talisman, returning his powers to Strange who banished the interlopers back to their dimension.[3]Miscellaneous

Notes
- As descendants of Set and Dagon,[2][1] part of a race of "serpent-fish-men",[1] Set-Dagon and his brethren are references to Set's Serpent Men created by Robert E. Howard and Dagon's Deep Ones/fishmen created by H.P. Lovecraft, races of the Cthulhu Mythos.
- Though some Serpent-Men have presented similar features (serpentine lower body and head),[4][5] this race appears to be distinct from them.
