Seti I was the second pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt. He was father of famed architect and builder Ramses II.
History
During his lifetime he became worried about the growing Hebrew slave population and decreed a cull of the first born. It was during this time his daughter found by a baby and drew him out of the water and called him Moses not knowing his true Hebrew origin. When the boy had grown he witnessed Egyptian soldiers mistreating a Hebrew slave, and so killed the soldier. To evade the Pharaohs wrath, he went on an exile from the city. Following the death of Set I his eldest son Ramses II took the throne and became as cruel as his father.[1]
