Shaft was trailed by the Hand's special weapon. Despite seeking the sewers beneath Phnom Penh, he fought against the Black Sky. Knocked down, he was aided by the Iron Fist and Colleen Wing but was struck by Elektra's sword before she darted deeper into the sewers. In his final breath, he warned the Iron Fist that his fight with the Hand was in New York.
