Overview
During the Hyborian Age, Shan-e-Sorkh, the Red Waste, or the Great Red Waste, was one of the deserts of Turan.[5]
It was one of the expansion fronts of the Turanian Empire.[4]

- Shan-e-Sorkh was first mentioned in Return of Conan[3] (1957), written by Björn Nyberg and revised by L. Sprague de Camp.
Trivia
- Shan-e-Sorkh's entry in "A Gazetteer of the Hyborian Age" presents erroneously "a village in Khitai a short distance west of Paikang".
