History
In a temporal offshoot of Earth-616 designated as Moira II.4, Abigail Brand successfully saw her plan to start an intergalatic war to completion. However she underestimated and was betrayed by Orbis Stellaris, whose army simultaneously struck Arakko, Krakoa and Earth as a whole. Unprepared, most Avengers perished in the opening salvo, which killed most people on Earth and made the planet uninhabitable by stripping its atmosphere. A small group of Mutants survived by escaping to space on an Acanti-borne Arakko, ironically under the leadership of Brand herself. Sunfire and Redroot were never separated from one another, eventually merging into a single being called Rootfire.[1]
Allying with the Starjammers, Brand's X-Men survived for years, occasionally making supply runs to Earth's airless surface. During one such run they rescued and brought with them a group of their long-dead friends - time-traveling X-Men from another timeline. Progidy's power allowed him to absord Brand's memory and quickly bring his group up to speed on her timeline's history. Time-traveling X-Men asked to be brought back to the serface when the Technarchy attacked, send by Stellaris who was after the last mysterium in the universe that was kept by Brand's X-Men. They engaged the intruders in a fight, in which the Starjammers soon arrived to help, while the time-traveling X-Men proceeded with their own mission.[1]
