History

Shiva emerged from Hiranyagarbha, the golden womb Aditi, along with Brahma, and Vishnu. Together, the three brothers rose to become the ruling council of the Hindu gods.

• Daeva Physiology: Shiva possesses all the superhuman abilities of an Hindu god but some of them are more developed than those of the majority of his race.
  • Superhuman Strength: Most male member of the Hindu pantheon can lift up to 40 tons but while Shiva's real strength in unknown it is known to be superior than the average of his race.
  • Hypnotism: Shiva can project enthralling energy from his third eye.

Trivia

• Technically, Shiva's first appearance was Thor #301, but it was later retconned that it was Indra, the older Vedic thunder-god in that issue, not Shiva. This retcon pushes Shiva's first appearance to much later in Thor (Vol. 2) #61.
