History
Sibyl was a Chronicom's "Predictor." As the Predictor, Sibyl had access to the time stream, allowing her to look into the past to see moments where the branches of history diverged.[1] She used this knowledge to guide the Chronicom Hunters' actions into the past to enable the Chronicom takeover of Earth, particularly by altering the history of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Sibyl's predictions led the Chronicoms to attempt to assassinate future Head of Hydra Wilfred Malick in 1931,[3] destroy much of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s early brain trust with Area 51 in 1955,[4] and launch Project Insight decades ahead of schedule in 1976[5] - all of which were thwarted by agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. following them through time.
Sibyl's physical body was destroyed in 1976 when Phil Coulson detonated a series of charges inside the Lighthouse, destroying the Chronicoms' ship and their Hunters with it.[1] Sibyl's consciousness, however was able to escape the destruction through the power grid. By 1983, she contacted Nathaniel Malick, Wilfred's son and de facto new Head of Hydra, allowing the her to continue the Chronicoms' partnership with Hydra to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D.. She also manipulated an electronics repairman in the town near the Lighthouse into building new bodies for herself and her Chronicom hunters. These new bodies did not have the sleek, humanoid appearance of the Chronicoms' former bodies, but were instead cruder robots armed with guns, buzzsaws, and lasers. Sibyl and her new Chronicoms broke into the Lighthouse to recover the time stream, which was still buried in rubble in the decommissioned facility. The Lighthouse, however, was not abandoned, as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Deke Shaw moved in with his band "The Deke Squad" after he was left behind in 1982. Deke had also connected Coulson's consciousness to a television, and invited S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie - both of whom were also left behind - to join his team. Together, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Deke Squad were able to destroy these new Chronicoms (although not without some losses), but one small robotic arm was able to get the time stream out of the Lighthouse to where Nathaniel Malick and Sibyl's still-incorporeal consciousness were waiting for it.[6]
Sibyl would later have Nathaniel attack Afterlife and take its Inhuman residents hostage.[7]Attributes
