History
Origin[]
Sidney Green grew up in a number of orphanages and foster homes in New Jersey. He was a boorish, clumsy child and suffered from chronic bedwetting, carrying around with him the funk of uncleanliness. Because of it Sidney was ostracized by other kids and was often the target of cruel bullying not only by them, but even the adults. To suppress bedwetting Sidney avoided liquids, but it led to dizziness and dehydration. All of it turned his life miserable and resulted in depression and self-worth issues.[1][6]
After his mutation activated, his body was severely changed, including his lower half. Finally he was no longer suffering from bedwetting.[1]
Xavier Institute[]
Sidney was accepted into the Xavier Institute and joined Gambit's Squad as Onyxx. As a mutant, Sidney had regained some confidence, forwarding audacious advances to aesthetically stirring female student Foxx. When Foxx was exposed as Mystique, Onyxx was devastated. He confronted "Foxx", demanding what she should admit that she is in love with him, but she beat him severely and smashed his head with a toilet.[7] Within days, Sidney was able to walk again, yet, the experience triggered unfortunate memories of his childhood, perhaps permanently traumatizing him.[1]
After M-Day[]
Sidney retained his powers after the M-Day and remained a resident at the Institute. He participated in the battle for the membership in the New X-Men, but wasn't chosen by Emma Frost.[8]
When Purifiers attacked the Institute, Onyxx was critically injured by Reverend William Stryker and barely survived.[9] He and Bling were considering to leave the Institute after all of these events,[3] but eventually stayed.
Onyxx was later captured alongside his fellow students by Belasco and imprisoned in Limbo.[10]
San Francisco and Utopia[]
Onyxx joined the X-Men when they relocated to San Francisco and later to Utopia and was seen training with Colossus and Rockslide.[11]
During the attack of Selene's Inner Circle on Utopia, Onyxx was killed by Wither.[4]
Krakoa[]
Years later Krakoa nation was established and many mutants were resurrected by the Five, including Onyxx.[5]
He participated in the second Hellfire Gala.[12]Attributes

Trivia
- Onyxx was originally planned to be killed off in New X-Men Vol 2, but writers Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle were not allowed to. As Yost bluntly put it: "I hated that character."[13] Later, however, he was killed of in X-Force (Vol. 3) by the same writers.
