History

Silver Rock Springs was a town in the Keewazi Reservation in Oklahoma. It was a collection of adobe houses and crude wikiups to give the impression of poverty. When oil was discovered in their land, the Keewazi set up a refinery. Becoming as wealthy as the Cherokee, the Keewazi invested a great percentage of the tribe's in education for the youth which resulted in the establishment of an entrepreneurial technology base that could rival Silicon Valley.

After intercepting a message from Keewazi leader Wyatt Wingfoot to the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, the The Wizard attacked Silver Rock Springs with his Frightful Four, expecting to find a hidden treasure of legend supposedly guarded by the Keewazi's legendary totem, Tomazooma. Wingfoot managed to send an S.O.S. to the Fantastic Four, who came to the Keewazi's aid and defeated the attackers.[1]

Many years later, the tribal government of the Keewazi entered into an agreement with Roxxon to let them drill in areas away from their sacred lands. However, Roxxon drilled too deep and disturbed a maze of subterranean passages where a collective of Moloids lived. The Moloids attacked the surface,[2] but Wingfoot managed to defuse the situation. After making amends, the Keewazi welcomed the Moloids into their tribe. The Moloids coexisted on the surface for a week until the Mole Man became aware of their mingling with the Keewazi and threatened them to return underground. In response, Wyatt signalled the Fantastic Four, but the call was only heeded by the Human Torch and his partner Sky. A day after issuing the warning, the Mole Man attacked Silver Rock Springs with a group of dinosaurs. A fight broke out until Sky used her powers to explain to the Mole Man's dinosaurs that their master was in the wrong, putting an abrupt end to his intrusion.[3]
