The Sinister Six was a group of six enemies of Spider-Man assembled by Doctor Octopus to defeat the wall-crawler. Their first public act was attacking a NYPD squad car and freeing its prisoner, Electro, during his recruitment.[1] Octavius began to analyze Spider-Man's skills and abilities by sending Kraven the Hunter to spy on him and stage a mock battle.[2] To further their analysis and hopefully recruit a new member, they kidnapped retired supervillain Scorpion, gave him a new scorpion armor, and implanted a control chip to force him to attempt to kill Spider-Man. Despite having the element of surprise, Spidey managed to defeat Scorpion and free him from the Six's control. Afterwards, Doc Ock decided his team didn't need any more members.[3]

A defeated Sinsiter Six

They used Mysterio's holograms to trick Spider-Man into an ambush, but despite achieving the upper hand and having Spider-Man literally under their feet, the youth's will allowed him to prevail, defeating the Sinister Six.[4]
