History
When the Skrullian Super-Skrull Apox signaled the Worldship, it fired a beam to Earth which created an Extermi-Field around the Fantastic Five building in New York City. It was a force-field that was drawing energy from the sun, becoming hotter every minute. Resulting in a solar bomb that would reach critical mass within 2.3 hours, taking out the island of Manhattan.[1]
The Fantastic Five used a device provided by Mr. Fantastic (who was occupied in the Negative Zone) that reversed the solar bomb's polarity, which sent all the accumulated energy back to the worldship. The ship's systems were overloaded resulting in it losing power and its defenses going offline. Nova took the Skrulls into custody whom ended up in prison cells.[2]
