History
Some folk in the hills of Nemedia boasted to be descendants of Acheron.[1][2] Those "Sons of Acheron" claimed to be the last pure-blooded descendants of Acheron and rejected the dominion of the royal house of Nemedia over them. There, in Northern Nemedia, they searched for centuries to unleash the power of the Demon God of Acheron and resurrect Python.
Circa 10,000 BC, when Prince Tarascus visited their lands, in search of the Acheronian mines, he clashed with the Sons of Acheron, who first presenting before him, demanding that he left, starting an harassment campaign as soon as Tarascus refused. Following Tarascus and Conan, the Sons of Acheron eventually found the means to achieve their plans as they uncovered an underground temple.
Welcoming with open arms the spawn of the Demon God, they were seemingly destroyed by them.[3]Notes
- The folks boasting to descend from Acheron were created by Robert E. Howard, mentioned in "The Hour of the Dragon" (Weird Tales; December, 1935 to April 1936), adapted in Giant-Size Conan #1 (September, 1974), written by Roy Thomas. They were later named "Sons of Acheron" in ""The Witch-Queen of Acheron" (Marvel Graphic Novel #19; December, 1985), written by Don Kraar and penciled by Gary Kwapisz.
