History

Origins and Early Years[]

Sorrow and her Fallen Stars "siblings" were allegedly each the embodiment of one of the dreams of an ancient Creator being, given form via the Creator's staff. They took shape and fell from through the void of the universe, creating planets and galaxies in their paths.

Sorrow fell in love with Termineus, a fellow Fallen Star, the embodiment of the dream of Cosmic Finality, who eventually realized that love was incompatible with his mission. In order to eliminate his feelings and mask his undying love, he mistreated Sorrow.[1]

Pre-Cataclysmic Age[]

During the Pre-Cataclysmic Age, Sorrow dwelt in the City of the Golden Gate in Atlantis.[1] Circa 19,000 BC, as conflict broke between the Elder Gods, Agamotto summoned their representatives of the Elder Gods. The participants to that Assemblage of Avatars included Agamotto, Sorrow, Zhered-Na, Dakimh, Lady Linnea, Rotath, Teyanoga, Tuzun Thune, Akoos the Red Wizard, Thulsa Doom, Lord Varnae, and C'Thunda.[2][3][4]

Modern Age[]

A few years ago, she was found as a mute patient at the Rosewell Sanitarium in Charles, Massachusetts. She met a fellow patient named Eric Simon Payne who had been suffering from a psychotic break due in no small part to the fact that his soul had been imprinted with a splintered fragment of the Nexus of All Realities. Sorrow formed an empathic bond with Eric and helped him to exorcise his own personal demons. Like Payne, Sorrow likewise possessed a portion of the shattered Nexus. It is possible that this connection to the Nexus was why she was able to develop spiritual connections to those around her.[citation needed]
